His and Her areas in the home

Simpsons have created his and her areas in numerous houses recently, suggesting there is a real trend for creating distinct rooms for individuals within the home.

Initially it seemed there was a trend for separate dressing areas, with women opting for their own dressing rooms but recently, many men have asked for more masculine, separate dressing areas too. A recent large project saw Simpsons re-design the interior of a house and this saw two male family members have their own bespoke dressing areas. One was designed in a classic way complete with separate shoe and tie areas and multiple wardrobes and the other, which was designed for a younger child, had a more fun, contemporary style.

In addition a large room was converted for the lady of the house, with separate areas for handbags and shoes. Housed in glass cabinets, the handbags were celebrated and really put on show. In addition a beautiful bespoke lit circular drawer area made the perfect centrepiece to the stunning room.

Many other bespoke dressing areas have been completed for women. A recent example saw the clever adaption of the loft area of a house in to a stunning area for shoes, handbags and clothes.

The trend for male and female rooms has also spread to bathrooms in recent years. In addition to family bathrooms, many individuals are choosing their own bathroom areas. In a recent commission, Simpsons created stunning masculine bathrooms and these were beautifully contrasted with matching bathrooms designed specifically for ladies. The colours were different, with the men’s bathroom being darker wood and marble with less emphasis on areas for products whereas the lady’s bathroom was a stark contrast in a beautiful white colour with large areas created for products to be showcased.

With Simpsons it’s all about individuality and detail.
